How We Support You

Why Shared Spaces Was Created

Shared Spaces was founded with the belief that everyone deserves a place where they can feel heard, respected, and supported without judgement.
For many people, it can be difficult to find a space where their experiences are fully understood. Whether navigating emotional challenges, life transitions, or complex situations, having the right support can make a meaningful difference.

This space was created to offer that support in a way that feels grounded, human, and accessible. It is not about fitting into a system or following a set path. It is about creating room for your experiences to be explored at your own pace, with care and understanding.

Our Founder

Meet Marie

Marie is a social worker with over 17 years of experience supporting individuals, families, and communities through complex and often challenging circumstances.

Her work has included supporting disadvantaged children and adults, working with young people at risk, and assisting individuals experiencing homelessness or navigating difficult life situations. Through this, she has developed a deep understanding of how personal experiences are often shaped by broader environments, relationships, and systems.
Alongside her work in social services, Marie has also spent many years building and leading community-based programs, with a strong focus on empowerment, personal development, and supporting individuals to move forward in meaningful ways.

Her approach to therapy is grounded, compassionate, and advocacy-led. She believes that people deserve to feel genuinely heard and supported, especially in moments where they may have felt overlooked or misunderstood elsewhere.
Rather than taking a purely clinical approach, Marie creates a space that feels human, respectful, and guided by your needs. A space where you can begin at your own pace, without pressure.

How We Support You

What This Space Is Built On

At the heart of Shared Spaces is a commitment to creating an environment where people feel safe, respected, and genuinely supported.

This is reflected through:

  • \
Respect: Every experience is valid and approached with care and understanding
  • \
Non-Judgement: You are free to share openly, without fear of criticism or assumption
  • \
Understanding: Your experiences are explored with curiosity, not judgement

Genuine Support: Support is shaped around your needs, not a one-size-fits-all approach

A Thoughtful and Grounded Approach

Therapy at Shared Spaces is guided by a simple intention, to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and supported in a way that reflects your experiences.

A Safe and Respectful Space

Sessions are designed to feel calm, non-judgmental, and supportive. You are encouraged to share at your own pace, without pressure to explain everything all at once.

Advocacy-Led Support

Marie’s approach is shaped by her background in social work and advocacy. This means your experiences are not viewed in isolation, but within the context of your environment, relationships, and circumstances. Your voice is prioritised, and your experiences are taken seriously.

Guided at Your Own Pace

There is no fixed path or expectation. Therapy is a collaborative process, where sessions are guided by your needs, allowing you to move forward in a way that feels manageable and supportive.

Ways to Work Together

Support at Shared Spaces is offered in different ways, depending on what feels right for you. Whether you are looking for one-on-one support, relationship counselling, or a more guided group or workshop setting, there are options to meet you where you are.
